Pierre-Luc Pomerleau is a Partner at VIDOCQ, responsible for assisting clients in growing their business and innovating while managing risks and protecting their assets. To do this, he applies his years of experience and extensive expertise in cybercrime, investigation, fraud prevention, anti-money laundering, physical security, business administration, technology, and risk management. Before joining VIDOCQ, Pierre-Luc was a Vice President at the National Bank of Canada, overseeing the Financial Crime and Corporate Security Division, including data analytics and innovation.
Pierre-Luc earned a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a specialization in Homeland Security from Northcentral University (USA), an MBA from the Université de Sherbrooke (Canada), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology from the Université de Montréal (Canada). He also holds various security and financial crime professional certifications, among them CPP, PSP, PCI, CFE, CAMS, CCCI and CFCI certifications.
In addition to his role with VIDOCQ, he is currently an Adjunct in Cybersecurity at Polytechnique Montréal. From 2020 to 2021, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher and Research Associate in Cybercrime at Georgia State University (USA). He co-authored the book Countering Cyber Threats to Financial Institutions: A Private and Public Partnership Approach to Critical Infrastructure, published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2020. From 2015 to 2018, Pierre-Luc was President of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Montréal Chapter. In October 2016, he was awarded an honorary degree by the Université de Montréal, École de criminologie [school of criminology] for his exemplary contribution to the advancement of society.
